Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development plays a critical role in WasteFuel’s growth by developing and implementing an organized business development strategy/process. The ideal candidate will be highly proactive, accountable, entrepreneurial, and detail oriented. Candidate will have exceptional relationship management skills and a proven ability to generate leads and close new business.
The Director of Business Development will work closely with and report to the executive team.
Responsibilities include:

Locates or proposes potential business deals/ targets through an existing network and identifies new targets through research/due diligence

Prepares and facilitates presentations and proposals that clearly communicate what sets WasteFuel apart

Develops and implements a growth strategy focused both on financial gain, partnership development and partner satisfaction

Manages business development initiatives including “roadshows” (identify targets, coordination, and execution), meetings, on-site meetings, conference calls and investor events

Maintains the prospect/partner/investor pipeline

Coordinates calendars and priorities and arranges business meetings with prospective investors/ partners

Develops negotiating strategies and positions by staying current on market trends and developments – ensuring our unique angle and foothold in the industry

Builds long-term relationships with new and existing partners and/or investors

Conducts research and analysis to identify and define additional partners needed to scale the business and conducts outreach accordingly

Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking best practices and competitor strategies

Edits and proofreads memos, emails, presentations and reports
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree
-
Proven track record / 5 + years of business development or other relevant working experience

Highly proactive, working with urgency

Excellent communication and people skills
-
Demonstrable experience with high-level negotiations

Excellent time management and planning skills
-
Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge / proficiency

International experience is preferred
