Nacho has been with bp for 22 years, joining the company after his Masters in Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, in Spain. He started his career in refining, and then moved to bp’s trading floor in the UK to optimise supply chains for bp Iberia.

 

He later became a trading Originator and led many complex transactions in Europe and Africa developing a strong commercial acumen and an ability to establish long lasting partnerships. These two skills helped him transition into bp ventures where he spearheaded a number of strategic investments in power and carbon markets. In 2019 he was promoted to Managing Director for Europe where his primary motivation is the decarbonisation of the energy sector.

 

Nacho also holds a Masters in Business Administration by UNED in Madrid and has studied Corporate Finance at London Business School and Sustainable Finance at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

 

He is an avid reader and passionate about making a positive change for the world. He spends a lot of time with his children, coaches their soccer team and (almost) enjoys triathlons.
