Before MDO Energy Insight, he was a Managing Director at Silverpeak leading commercial activities and refinery economics and logistics for North Atlantic Refining LP.

Mario has a broad range of leadership experience in the energy business including feedstocks scheduler, crude oil and refined products trader, complex derivatives trader, trading desk head, head of market analysis for oil majors and trading houses. Mario also brings software management and sustainability expertise as a former global oil product manager for Bloomberg and as a Director for Descartes Labs.

Prior to entering the private sector, he served as a U.S. Naval Officer. Mario holds a BS degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MA from Norwich University.
