Doug Newman is Vice President, Business Development of WasteFuel. Newman brings over 20 years of commodity experience, with the last 15 spent in the physical transportation fuel market, to WasteFuel.
He has been active all along the fuel values chain including feedstock and supply procurement, terminal and logistics optimization, end user supply agreements, and off take and exchange agreements. Newman also has experience bringing various fuels and renewables to market.
Prior to joining WasteFuel, Newman was VP of Fuel Management at Power Energy Corp. where he was responsible for all operational and supply aspects of a wholesale fuel jobber, including becoming the largest independent E85 supplier to the Chicagoland Market.
He previously served as Managing Partner at Buckeye Trading Partners, a trading fund based on technical analysis of commodity and equity markets.
Newman’s work in the renewable fuels space includes several years at Amyris Fuels, LLC, a renewable fuels company, where he was Director of the Southeast US Markets and was responsible for all business development activities in the Southeast US. He ran the biofuels trading book at Aventine Renewable Energy.
He was also a longtime member of The Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Newman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from The Ohio State University.
